Arthur Read Military Base Closing Decision reversed in light of recent threats

QUENTINSBURGH- Plans to close down Arthur Read Military Base and open up the land for private development have come to a halt as of Friday, as the Freedemian Legislature passed a law repealing the plan in light of recent threats by the Woolonian Traditionalist Rebels and a recent assassination attempt.

The original plan called for the air force base to be shut down March 1st and the rest to be shut down after Quentinsburgh hosts the 2016 Summer Pancontinental Games in the summer. However, while the new bill still shuts down the air force base, it keeps the base open as a ground forces hub to protect the nation’s capital, government officials and all residents and visitors to the city.

“We feel like this is the best choice for the safety of Quentinsburgh, our leaders and our people,” stated Cristina Garcia, current Speaker of the House of Equal Representation, a Quentins State Representative and member of the Freedemian Security Committee. “We apologize now to any military personnel for the confusion, and to all of the developers who had proceeded with creating plans.”

Most people are happy with the decision. “It makes me feel a little safer about things,” one woman who lives near the Capitol Mall stated. Another man, a tourist planning to come to the 2016 Geolympiad, said “It’s good to see safety being put before profits. I think it will be safer for the Games themself, too.” Even VP candidates Patrick Houser and Marco Nelson found a rare point of full agreement, saying together that both of them feel safer about being vice president knowing that there are huge precautions in place to keep them safe.

Most of these concerns stemmed from a recent failed assassination attempt on President Angela Rosenthal earlier this month. A Woolonian Traditionalist Rebel barely missed hitting the president with a poisoned dart. One different move by Ms. President would have been the difference between life and death.

Other implied threats have been received, though the WTR (the rebels) denounced the attack. The WTR has implied wanting to fight against Woolonia’s closest allies, of which Freedemia is chief, while taking down the formal organized Woolonian government.

Even though none of the other threats have actually been carried through, Freedemia has been on high alert as a precaution. It is expected that other changes will be made by the legislature in coming days to protect the nation and its leaders.

Console Wars Episode MMXVI: The Tech Empires Strike Back

Not very long ago, in a game store not far, far, away…

TRENCHENT- It appears after what seems like a “Millennium” Megamer Games will no longer be flying “Solo” in the Freedemian domestic gaming market. In light of a recent boom in Megamer Games in the modern game industry, largely fueled by the release of the GameOne SuperNova, GamePhone SuperNova, and a series of new games ranging from remakes of the classics to modern three-dimensional racing games, it appears the “Force” driving the Freedemian Console Wars has “awakened” after a long slumber, as at least two other tech giants look to enter the market.

Back around the time of the SuperbMegamer and the Megamer128, the console market was ripe for newcomers. One may remember the early successes of Techtari with their LigerX console line, who up until the SuperbMegamer was winning the battle, or Magnasonic, the electronics company that had been a household name for analog televisions for three decades, releasing their SEGC-1 (Super Electronic Gaming Console). Even then-giant QuinTech tried to get into the game with a QuinOS 93 powered console called the QDiscer (games came on floppy disks).

But one of the companies that almost made it was Magnasonic’s biggest competitor, Zenergy. At around the same time as Megamer’s StayGamer and GoGamer (the GoGamer being the first widely successful portable handheld full strength console, even if it was sort of bulky), Zenergy released a console known as the Zenergy ZeeBox Gaming System. The console actually was very high quality for its time. The problem was that it was designed to compete with the Megamer128, not the StayGamer. The project had been delayed just one year too long (The device was originally supposed to be a collaboration with Techtari making games and Zenergy making hardware, but Techtari decided to roll solo, basically killing themselves in the process), and Zenergy lost that race painfully.

Zenergy would make a comeback in the late 90’s. While Megamer’s original three Game One consoles (up to the Game3) were widely popular, Zenergy would win out when it came to handhelds. The ZeeBoy, a handheld gaming system, was the easiest to carry around of any console of that time, and while the games were slightly inferior, the convenience of being able to take the game almost anywhere was quite significant. Megamer, however, would respond with a game changer- the GameOne NG (New Generation), which basically created a handheld stronger than the Game3 console that could connect to a console box or be used separately. The device, first to offer a touchscreen, good 3D graphics and other features now taken mostly for granted in a small convenient design, trumped Zenergy’s ZeeBoy Silver and basically kicked Zenergy out of the console game.

Until now.

Zenergy has been putting a lot into research and development this past year. After the QuinTech buyout by StepStone Technology, they released a beta line of phones, tablets and computers, hoping the Zenergy name and their quality hardware would carry them through and make them a strong competitor in the computer market. (The first actual computer line running zOS ready for sale without the “beta” labeling is supposed to come out in 2017.) However, it looks like Zenergy plans to take on StepStone AND Megamer Games.

Today, Zenergy released some images of patents for a new console and some details in a TweetBook post, titled “The ZBox returns. Late 2017. Zenergy is back in the console business!!” The device, to run on cartridges like the original ZeeBox, is a cube about 9 inches by 9 inches, and is very similar to the original design. It seems based off of released details that the parts inside are far improved, meant to compete with the SuperNova and whatever comes after it.

Considering the GameOne SuperNova has seen the most success as a handheld (Megamer designed it so each handheld can be independent, but can also link up to a single console box to act as a single console; the handheld option is far more popular), the ZBox, which is a plug-into-your-television console, could take the market for home consoles by storm.

Megamer entering the phone market with the GamePhone SuperNova seemed to be what ticked computer giant StepStone off. With Zenergy nipping at their heels in computing and Megamer seriously gaining a market share in phones as many gamers choose GamePhones over StepPhones, StepStone’s near monopoly status is disappearing quickly. The StepStone “empire” appears to be “striking back” with a new concept for their own console and game phones, known as StepUp Home Console. Like Zenergy, they are going to hit the home console market hard. However, unlike Zenergy, they are trying to compete in the handheld market against the GamePhones by making a new line of StepPhones that can run any StepUp game using a disc reader that will attatch to the phone. (These devices will be quite expensive, though.)

(Megamer struck back at StepStone by cancelling any plans for Megamer GameApps to be available through the StepStone App Mall and ending plans to release old games for PC.)

However, the next big obstacle facing these companies is games. No matter how heated the “console wars” get, Megamer tends to win on games, especially now, considering 2016 is expected to be the strongest year for Megamer-made games in decades. Megamer Games are only available for Megamer consoles. This means these other companies won’t have access to Snapster, Zoball, FutureCity Racing, OGFIA racing games, IFWC games, or anything else Megamer. Considering these have become some of the most popular, choosing a SuperNova over a ZBox is not exactly a difficult choice, even if the specs are a teeny bit better on the ZBox. The StepUp has a far better chance of competing, but games are still an issue.

However, the real question us at PWN Technology News are wondering is-

Isn’t it too late in the history of technology advancement for a console war? At this point, apps and in-app purchases outsell regular console games (though Freedemian tech giant StepStone frowns upon them) and PC gaming has recently outpaced any sort of console (so I suppose technically, StepStone, one of the biggest personal computer companies in the world, was already in the gaming market). Consoles and physical games, whether on a cartridge or a disk, are going out of style quickly. I would predict that even for companies like Megamer, disks and cartridges (or in their case, special USB drive cartridges) will be gone in a decade. Then again, that’s just our opinions.

2016- a Mega Year for Megamer Games

TRENCHENT- Gamers are going to have a great year, especially Megamer fans. Megamer Games has declared 2016 the “MegaYear” due to all of the long awaited games coming out this year. Here’s a rundown of some of the biggest titles and the latest news that many are so excited about.

Snapster 3D Go!! 2
After over a decade of waiting, Snapster fans will get a sequel to Megamer’s earliest three dimensional video game. Snapster 3D Go!! was a an extremely popular game, and to date the only entirely 3D Snapster game. This new game will keep it looking classic, but with some smoother graphics. This new plot makes Snapster have to go through several three-dimensional levels somewhat inspired by levels in the first three. Very few details about the plot have been released, but the basics seem to be inspired by Snapster the Turtle and the Crystal Radish, except that Dr. Harebrain has stolen a very important invention from Snapster’s dad and infected all of his inventions with a virus so that Snapster could not stop his diabolical plans. Because of this, unlike most other Snapster games, Snapster needs to find parts to rebuild many of his dad’s inventions himself as he goes along.

One awesome thing Megamer released about the game is that it will feature deleted levels from Snapster 3D Go!!, but the thing gamers are super excited about is an easter egg hidden in the game- the original never-released game, Snapster’s Great Adventure!, will be hidden in one of the levels!! Nothing has been released about where in the game it will be hidden, but it’s been implied that it is hidden in a fast paced level in an easy to miss spot.

Snapster’s Great Adventure! was created about two years before the original Snapster the Turtle game. Almost no one outside of the original design team has ever played the game, and only a few screenshots were ever released. From what developers with Snapster Team told us in an interview, Snapster’s Great Adventure! did not include a clear explained plot like Snapster the Turtle did, and relied mainly on context. (For example, apparently the bad guy, now Dr. Harebrain, was shown taking Snapster’s dad away at the beginning, with no explanation of why, and Snapster didn’t have to use any inventions in the game because his dad wasn’t actually an inventor in the original version.)

“We would have just been putting out another lame Runnerdude with a different character and a different plot,” stated head developer of the original game, Tyrell Joseph McSilva. “No one would have cared, and Snapster would have been forgotten as that lame game that never caught on. But we recognized the potential the game had and realized we could do so much more with the idea. If we had released that first game, Megamer Games may not have made it to today. Snapster was what made us who we are today.”

Zoball- Level Up!!!

This game will be the third three-dimensional Zoball game, and will come after a long lapse between games. In this game, Zachary (Zoball when he’s not a human) sees his family taken  by an evil dictator. Zachary turns back into Zoball, knowing that it’s the only way to save his family. However, Zoball’s ball powers are at an all time low after the wizard turned him back into a human in game 1, as the ball power has been wearing off ever since he turned back. Unlike the original Zoball game and the other 2 Zoball 3D games, where Zoball is stuck as a ball and is trying to become a human again, Zoball has to constantly collect smaller balls to stay a ball, or else he will turn back into Zachary and be defeated in one hit.

TechSpy Agency- Operation Shutdown

The second completely three-dimensional TechSpy game to take place in Quentinsburgh, the entire main part of the city is rendered in the game, including the metro system, although only some buildings let you go in and real brands are substituted for fake ones. (A fake Glofish Maps app in the game called “Globird” will show you places you can go into.) For those of you who have never played a TechSpy Agency game, this is a huge deal. The last game, TechSpy Agency- Quentinsburgh Conundrum, which was still way better than any past games, only let you go places in downtown and central Quentinsburgh and into a few select buildings. This game renders everything within the inner loop U-104 and lets you go into almost every large supermarket, many businesses, etc. Even more, this game with its huge memory and labor-intensive three-dimensional graphics will be the most powerful ever made for a Megamer Console, using almost every bit of the memory and processing speed available.

“This is one of the reasons we transitioned to special USB drives from cartridges. They can hold the whole game far better and much more compact-ly than a bulky cartridge could. That and the fact that PC games can be played on the console too. But only a GameOne SuperNova is powerful enough to run this thing.”

The TechSpy 3D game series was made as a clean competitor for popular more violent city-based 3D games like City Cops and Great Theft Auto. This new game, coming this summer, will actually beat those competing games out of the park.

FutureCity Racing 3- WorldPrix

Megamer’s other most popular 3D game is also getting a remake. A new FutureCity Racing game comes out this summer as well, this time with fictional futuristic tracks from all over the world. It’s expected to be the best racing game on the market this year- besides Megamer Games’ own OGFIA 2016 (not to be confused with Red Circle Games’ OGFIFA 2016 Soccer). New jumps, crazy tracks and special checkpoints are new additions to the game.

Overall, it looks like 2016 may be the one year since 1990 where Megamer Games wins the console war hands down. The GameOne SuperNova may have come out in 2015, but these games will likely make it the most coveted console on the market.

Several arrests in Ārakkar after police find large amounts of drugs hidden in fake turtlefruit shells

(Ārakkar, 27 February 2016) – In what has been the largests drugs related operation in Řots to date the police found a ‘huge amount of drugs’ worth several hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of Řots Varks hidden in 97 boxes containing mostly fake turtlefruit shells yesterday morning. A few real turtle fruits had been added in case of a superficial controle, but the police were tipped and went through the cargo more thoroughly than expected.

The five persons that were supposed to collect the boxes were held and are currently in police custody. In the course of the day, the police raided several buildings in downtown Ārakkar and the neighbouring village of Valkar, during which 26 more suspects were arrested. It is said that Bidevi Koras Avēt, the Ārakkar alderman responsible for local economy and trade is among them, but the police said that they couldn’t deny nor confirm that as the investigation is still ongoing.

The police told the press that the drugs were intended for the South-East Astrasian market. “Drugs from Tarephia have been finding their way through our country for years, but in the last three to five years we noted a sudden traffic increase. With today’s catch we administered a severe blow to the drug scenes both in Řots, in our neighbouring countries and hopefully in the countries of origin as well”, a spokesman of the police said.

The “Turtlefruit Scandal”, as it is already called, may have consequences for more people. “In order to maintain such an enormous clandestine operation, people in high places have had to be involved”, Vase Belōr Galati, the chief commissioner of the national police, said today in a televised interview. In the next couple of days, the police will be expanding their investigation to other cities as well, especially the capitals of Nekkar and Kotōlets and the southern harbour of Kiřtemon. “It is important that we put a stop to this as quickly as possible”, the chief commissioner said.

Turtlefruits, especially the so called “Freedemian” variant, are a quite popular exotic fruit in Řots and the most important fruit that is imported from the Tarephian continent.

PWN Politics- VP Election a 2 man race, support for Woolonia shrinks, local races see familiar faces

GRAHAM CITY- A lot has changed in the last few days in Freedemian politics. Today in the PWN PoliticalUpdater, we look at three main changes to the overall political scene.

Support for ties with Woolonia grows, support for alliances with Woolonia shrinks

It’s all in the semantics, it seems, when it comes to public opinion about relations with Woolonia. After a recent assassination attempt against President Angela Rosenthal by a Woolonian Traditionalist Rebel, the public’s views seem to have shifted greatly. Approval for relations with Woolonia and public opinions of Woolonia itself have actually improved, jumping to about 73% of Freedemians seeing Woolonia “very favorably” or “somewhat favorably”, in contrast to just 67% before the assassination attempt. This came along with a growth in support for the Woolonian government, who immediately released a statement after the assassination attempt to the rebels, saying they had gone too far and that they would defend Freedemia however necessary. (Rebels claimed the woman who did the attempt was a “rogue” and that “her actions can not be condoned”.)

However, the entire reason according to rebels for the assassination attempt of President Rosenthal was Freedemia’s support of the organized Woolonian government in the first place. In fact, under President Rosenthal, Freedemia entered into an alliance with Woolonia, the first of its kind in the nation’s history. The problem is that this alliance basically makes it where if something happens with Woolonia, Freedemia could be dragged into a militaristic conflict. And with the Woolonian Traditionalist Rebels seeming to be trying to make a comeback in Woolonia, to many, such a conflict seems imminent. In a nation with mostly pacifists, that’s not good.

Freedemia is a pacifist nation who has never in its history had to go to war. Even in huge conflicts, they attempted to stay neutral, though sometimes with a slight leaning to one side ideologically. The prospect of having to go to war, alongside the realization that our ties may be putting the nation at risk, have scared many citizens greatly. Support for the actual alliance with Woolonia dropped from 31% before the assassination attempt to a measly 2% now.

Redsten is out, Houser and Nelson in neck-and-neck race for VP

It’s finally happened. The race for the next vice president of Freedemia is now a two man race. Anne Redsten announced yesterday afternoon after a newer poll dropped her from 21% to a all time low of just 17% of the vote that she is suspending her campaign for vice president- but with the caveat that she is now running for the executive of her home state of Franklins. Most expected Redsten to wholeheartedly endorse and embrace former underdog newscaster Patrick Houser for VP, essentially ending the race with a landslide win for Houser, but in a surprising twist, she didn’t endorse anyone- instead pointing out the positives of both candidates.

“Former VP Marco Nelson is the best for the job in terms of experience and in foreign policy. As much as I hate to admit it, Nelson was the one who warned against the alliance with Woolonia, and it looks like he was right. He seems to be the best at seeing foreign policy issues before they happen. However, when it comes to actual ideas and the momentum to get things done, newscaster Patrick Houser seems to be the best option. He has plans not based off of keeping certain things out of our future, but plans to shape our future. Like President Rosenthal said, Houser’s revolutionary ideas would continue the momentum that we’ve seen under the past two administrations, including my own with President Cara Harolds. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a vice president.”

Redsten’s statements made the race that much closer. Just over half of Redsten supporters seem to have actually shifted to Marco Nelson out of concern for a looming Second Woolonian Civil War, one that could end up worse than the first and drag Freedemia into the midst. The rest went to Patrick Houser as originally expected.

This race has gotten to the point where the difference between candidates appears to be less than a percent. Houser is still barely leading Nelson- but only 50.2% to 49.8%- on a poll with a 1% margin of error.

Houser seems confident that he can edge it out. “I’m not supposed to be here on this stage right now!!! When I first put in my bid, the most reliable polls in the country said that I was only going to get 4% of the vote, getting crushed by Nelson. He was supposed to win with over 70% of the vote!!!!! Being here today in a two man race itself, leading the very one that was supposed to wipe the floor with me is proof that the nation really is Hoping for Houser!!!”, he said at an event in Personsboro, QT today, getting a huge round of cheering and applause from everyone in the room, a crowd of several thousand people ready to vote Houser in the April election.

Meanwhile, Nelson was campaigning in Graham City, one of the few coastal cities to not be helped much by Freedemia’s recent booms in tourism and trade. “I respect my opponent, I respect him as a person, as a newscaster and I even like many of his ideas. But I’m the only one up here who can handle foreign policy! I respect Houser’s knowledge of the facts, it’s quite impressive. But he reports the facts as they happen, I saw this coming from a mile away!!”

President Rosenthal made a press statement by live feed from a heavily secured room in the Presidential Mansion in response to the news that Redsten had dropped out of the race, standing by her endorsement of Patrick Houser, based off his visionary ideas, initiative to get things done and his understanding of things on the local, national and global scale, but also saying that she did believe that Marco Nelson should be looked to for foreign policy advice, whether elected or not.

Wooten-Whitaker running for Executive of Graham, Redsten for Executive of Franklins

It looks like Diane Wooten-Whitaker may have gone from a losing battle to a very competitive race. Wooten-Whitaker announced yesterday that she is running for the Executive of her home state of Graham. It’s easy to look at her recent failures in running for Vice President and write her off. However, on the local level, Wooten-Whitaker may have found the perfect storm. For better or for worse, Wooten-Whitaker has huge name recognition after her VP campaign unraveled in front of a national audience. The formerly unknown teacher from Creeklyn Technology Academy, a small tech based magnet high school in Graham City, is now a household name, especially among the many memes that made fun of her recent bladder mishap during a live debate. However, looking closer at her record, she was last year’s Graham State Teacher of the Year, and has seen more kids from her school go to a four year university than any other school in the state.

Perhaps Wooten-Whitaker’s biggest advantages are where she is running and who she’s running against. Graham state, especially Graham City, did not see the same success as the rest of Freedemia in the recent booms. Graham City, once the largest city in western Tarephia after Narghana City, has shrunk from about 9 million people to about 6 million as residents leave and the rest of Freedemia grows and thrives. International flights have been given to Quentinsburgh, trade and tourism to Laneston and Vandover. The current executive and incumbent in the upcoming election, Andrew Carmichael, is a 72 year old wealthy male and long time politician who has done very little to help the situation. His approval ratings are very low; the only reason he was re-elected in 2014 was his huge “Rebuilding Graham Act”, meant to improve transit, grow tourism and trade and to revitalize communities. The only thing that actually got done was a small streetcar (3 miles shorter than it was supposed to be) running through a wealthier part of the Kings waterfront. People are looking for an alternative who will actually try to make a difference.

Wooten-Whitaker’s platform, based primarily on technology, education and transportation, works very well with the state. Graham City is a great place to create a technology hub, something that could set the area apart again. Better universities and more education could make that not only happen, but thrive. With so many neighborhoods and areas somewhat abandoned, transportation and revitalization could begin from the ground up. Wooten-Whitaker has proposed creating an additional 2 universities to be part of the state/federal university system. Both schools (Graham State Technological University [GSTU] and Graham Institute of Technology [GIT]) would be technology schools, funded largely by closing tax loopholes for the wealthy in the state and from federal funds freed by SRAFRA, a funding reallocation act passed in mid 2015. Schools would be revamped as part of a statewide program, with a new track especially to help students interested in STEM fields get to in-state universities like GSTU and GIT.

Many are actually beginning to compare Wooten-Whitaker’s 2016 run to Angela Rosenthal’s 2014 presidential run. There are definitely similarities. Both started off in education (Rosenthal was a science teacher, then a principal), started with no name recognition and worked their way up, and were going against a much more politician-like opponent. Wooten-Whitaker actually seems to have a 70% chance of beating incumbent Carmichael; the real question is whether someone else like Grady Walton (community activist and leader of the group Change for Graham, who has said he is considering running) or Pastor Kenneth Prince (a well known television evangelist) will run against her.

Anne Redsten’s race may be more of an uphill battle. Franklins state has been doing quite well, even without the booming economic growth the coastal cities have seen. With incumbent Samantha Darden stepping down, it really seems like Redsten’s biggest competition will be Kathleen Fredrick, who is currently the head of the Franklins Department of Transportation, and Harrison Moran, owner of the largest engineering firm in central Freedemia. Current polls put Moran at 38%, Redsten at 32% and Fredrick at 30%.

Considering the Executive election isn’t until October, Redsten could easily gain- or lose- voters over the next months.

Year of the environment in Kojo – Line 13&14 of Pyingshumanian metro expected to open soon!

-Pyingshum, Kippa

The metro network of Pyingshum, the largest city and capital of the Republic of Kojo, is about to grow even further with two additional lines expected to open in 2016. Fittingly, this year has been chosen by the Kojolese Theme-of-the-year-association to be known under the name “Year of the Environment” with the motto “From local to global – saving the planet for our children”, which is supposed to raise awareness for and point activism towards greenhouse gas emissions in general and global warming in particular.

The metro network has always played a major role in the history of the city, and when the two new lines enter operation there will have been a total of 5 new lines added to it since 1998. As Pyingshum continues to be the fastest growing city in Kojo by total numbers, ensuring the reliability and expanding the area covered by the metro network was not only necessary to prevent a rising numbers of cars on the already busy roads, but also to relax property prices in already well connected neighbourhoods.

Furthermore, with line 13 the southern far-distance railway station  Aku Dyanchezi finally is directly accessible via a third metro line. As the busiest railway station in the city it has proven to overload line 7 and especially line 1 during peak hours; in the future, the situation on its underground metro platforms will be much more relaxed.

The automated vehicles for both lines have already been delivered by a noted manufacturing company in the city of Kippa, about 150 km from Pyingshum.

The official opening is scheduled for the coming months.

Polls show unexpected shift, Houser at 42%, Nelson at 37%, Redsten drops to 21%

ANNEITASBURGH- A surprising shift in polls shows favorite Patrick Houser taking the lead for the first time, while Marco Nelson’s isolationist policies appealed more after recent events, bumping him up to second place. Redsten’s wholehearted embrace of supporting Woolonia hurt her greatly considering the recent assassination attempt on President Rosenthal by a Woolonian Rebel, and she dropped far behind into third.

Freedemia has been “Hoping for Houser” ever since Nelson began to drop in the polls in late January. He had been predicted to at least catch up to the first place leader, but hadn’t been expected to gain a strong lead this early on. However, strength in recent debates, a renewed focus on going green and a more moderate stance on isolationism where economic ties are embraced but alliances are avoided greatly helped Houser gain huge numbers of voters.

Freedemians’ attention was especially brought to climate change and going green after an unconventional speech at the Assembly of Nations by a representative of Telkhug Ēkdŭn, where the representative stripped to show the effects of climate change on the world. The videos of the strange speech went viral, and despite initial reactions, the public has embraced her message. Houser is the only candidate that emphasized his plans for climate change and the country continuing to go green.

Houser was also helped by the sad events of the attempted assassination of president Angela Rosenthal. Anne Redsten, originally the strong front runner, plummeted in the polls after basically saying that her response would be to strengthen ties with Woolonia against the traditionalist rebels. (In a pacifist isolationist nation, that’s not how you gain votes.) However, over half her voters went to Nelson, one who has been emphasizing isolationism from the beginning and kind of used the event as a tragic “I told you so” moment.

Houser has jumped to 42% in the polls, Nelson to 37%. Many are starting to count Redsten out considering how far she’s dropped (21%) and the fact that unlike Nelson and Houser, she has nearly nothing to give her a way to climb back.

Nelson’s biggest uphill battle will be convincing voters that his claims that he can keep President Rosenthal from making bad decisions is true, considering the fact he worked under the “worst president in Freedemian history” (by every poll for the past 20 years), “hated his policies” (Nelson’s speech in Franklinsburgh, 2/3/16) and couldn’t manage to stop any of it.

Redsten honestly seems to be realizing her chances just aren’t there anymore. In a discussion with PWN, she mentioned her sadness with the assassination attempt but said she understood is about the nation’s security at this point. She said she is honestly considering her chances, and may decide by the beginning of March whether to stay in the race. When asked who she would endorse if she left, she said “Well, I can’t say until I drop out- IF I drop out- but it wouldn’t be Nelson, I’ll say that.”

Which Nelson obviously wasn’t happy about.

If Redsten directs her votes to Houser, the election would be pretty much decided.

But either way, the grassroots movement that got the country Hoping for Houser has grown into the mainstream movement for the nation. One almost everyone except Marco Nelson can get behind.
